2024 ICCAC Fall Preview | Men's Soccer
Division I:
2024 was the first season that Division I Men's Soccer only had two teams participating. The Reivers and Warriors fought on two occasions and in both meetings the Warriors prevailed taking home the Region 11 crown.
Iowa Western started the season ranked No. 5 in the NJCAA but fell out of the rankings over the course of the season. In the District Tournament the Reivers made it to the final before losing to their conference rivals Indian Hills for a third time. The Reivers missed out on an at-large bid for the National Tournament and failed to qualify for the first time in four years.
Indian Hills had an impressive season, winning the regular season title and District title. This gave them an automatic qualification to the National Tournament, their first appearance since the 2017 season. The Warriors went into the tournament as the No. 10 seed and fought multiple close games in pool play but ended up falling short and ended their season in pool play.
The District Tournament places only one Region 11 team in the tournament this season, which will leave the Reivers and Warriors battling it out for the singular spot.

Division II:
Division II Men's Soccer concluded its first nine-team season in 2023. It was an extremely successful season for many of the teams competing including two teams ranked as the No. 1 and No. 2 team in the final NJCAA poll. The teams competing in Division II this season include, Hawkeye, Iowa Central, Iowa Lakes, Marshalltown, NIACC, Northeast, Northwest Iowa, Southeastern and Western Iowa Tech.
The favorites heading into this season are Northeast and Iowa Lakes, ranked No. 1 and No. 2 respectively in the final NJCAA polls last season. Northeast returns this season as the reigning Region and District title holders and as the No. 3 team in the NJCAA. Iowa Lakes will head into this season as the defending National Champions after a stellar first campaign in Division II. Both teams will be competitive at every level.
The teams that could be right up there in the conversation for the Region are Hawkeye, Western Iowa Tech and Southeastern. Hawkeye returns many key players and will have an experienced roste that proved its competitiveness last season. Western Iowa Techs inaugural season finished strong and now they are being tipperd by the coaches to be contenders. Southeastern had an unfortunate spill last season but will return this year hungry to compete with the other top team in the conference.
Marshalltown, Iowa Central and NIACC round out the rest of the established teams in the conference. Each one of these teams will be looking to improve this season and could always be a threat to compete with any other team in the conference on game day.
Finishing out the teams is Northwest Iowa. It will be their inaugural season and the expectations will be to lay a foundation that this team can compete in a difficult conference.
Come postseason, Dakota County (Minn.) will be inserted into the Region 11 Tournament -- Northwest Iowa will bow out, as they are ineligible for postseason play in their first season of competition. NIACC will also be ineligible due to an NJCAA violation at the end of last season.
Find out where everyone fits in now, and check back at the end of the season on who comes out of Region 11.
